5 Good Things.

I’ve been wanting to inject some personal updates into my blog for a while. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love reading and writing about beauty and skincare but I definitely warm more towards lifestyle and interiors posts. I wanted to update you all with what’s going on at the moment as, once again, I seemed to have taken a break from blogging. I promise I’m really trying guys…

01. There’s only 129 days until we fly to New York. I am slightly stressing out, I feel like I have so much to do, so much to save and so much to pay for. I have paid off my half of the trip which is good because it now means I can focus on saving up some spending money. We aren’t going to go crazy with the shopping and spending when we’re there, but we know that we want to go for a fancy dinner one night and I know I won’t be leaving without purchasing a lil’ something from Mansur Gavriel so we just want to make sure that we save enough. I also want to treat myself to a set of those beautiful Away suitcases! With all the travelling that Olly and I do these days, I will 100% get my money’s worth so why not…

02. I have been looking after myself more recently. I treated myself to some of the dreamy tanning products from Isle Of Paradise (full review coming soon!) and got a new hair cut. I swear there’s nothing better than a layer of fake tan and a fresh trim, I feel like a new woman. I also finally have a diagnosis on my poorly stomach so I am moving forward with subtle changes to help myself, I think I will do a full update on this too, it’s so hard figuring out what I should and shouldn’t share online…

03. I finally got myself Photoshop and Lightroom on my MacBook. This means that I will finally be able to edit photos and write up posts…in ONE place. Can I get a hallelujah! I also ordered an SD card reader which is proving to be a huge help so I can get my photos on my laptop in one click rather than emailing them through my phone…I never claimed to a professional blogger guys. I’m feeling motivated to get my butt into gear and to start pushing posts out, my only issue is that I tend to fall into creative ruts a lot. Does anyone have any advice on how to help this? Let me know!

04. I turned 22 last week which has led to me thinking about where I am currently and where I want to go in life. I, like many other young adults, work full time. Work can feel extremely overwhelming and stressful if it is not fulfilling. We have to work to pay our bills and feed ourselves but we also want to work in a creative, comfortable and strong workplace. Sometimes it feels like we can’t have both, so I’m on a mission to find it. I read the other day “working for something you dislike is called stress, working for something you love is called passion” and I couldn’t agree more. Fingers crossed that future possible opportunities go well…I’ll keep you updated on this one.

05. I am fiiinally giving in to the whole idea of a Kindle. I personally don’t think that there is anything better than buying a new book and opening it up page by page to indulge in a new world with interesting characters…don’t even get me started on that new book smell… However, the advantages of having your own personal library at your fingertips is becoming too overwhelming to ignore. A kindle would provide me with hours and hours worth of reading, which is something I want to do more. Not to mention, I would be able to travel with multiple books AND I could read at night without having the keep the light on (it’s the little things heh). Send me some book recommendations please!

What’s everyone been up to lately then? Please do let me know in the comments below…
